Turkey Meatballs with Homemade Marinara

Nothing like comfort food!

Homemade Marinara

2 tbs onion
1 onion, chopped
4 cloves of garlic
1 large carrot, peeled and diced
1 celery rib, diced
2 32 oz cans of crushed tomatoes
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
Salt and pepper

In a large sauce pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Saute until onion is translucent. Add tomatoes and red pepper. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for an hour.

Turkey Meatballs

1 lb ground turkey
1/2 c seasoned bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbs chopped parsley
2 tbs Parmesan cheese
Dash of cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Preheat oven to 350 and spray a baking pan with non stick spray. Mix above ingredients together. Form meat into golf ball size balls and bake in oven for 30 minutes.
